What Are Your (Excel) Plans For 2016?

I hope you had a safe and very happy new year!

Did you make any New Year's Resolutions yet?

Whether you make a concrete list of goals or just think about some plans, this is the time we review last year and think about what we want to accomplish this year.

Andy with 2016 Goal List Excel

It's not always easy to figure out what to put on this list.  It's even more challenging to accomplish everything you set out to do.

Believe me, I know from experience! 🙂  So I'm going to try and make it a little easier on myself this year.

Excel Campus Goals for 2016

2015 was a great year for Excel Campus, and I am really excited about 2016.

My goal for Excel Campus this year is pretty simple:

I want to help you learn Excel so you can take your skills to the next level.

That's it! It's a simple goal that will help you:

  • Save time with your job.
  • Advance in your career.
  • And impress your boss! 🙂

So 2016 will be all about getting to know you better. I want to learn more about how you are using Excel, and what skills and techniques you want to learn.

This will help me create articles, videos, and courses that will help you achieve your goals.

The Amazing Excel Campus Community – That's You!

In 2015 you might have seen our friend Andy in a few of my videos. Andy made his first appearance in the video series about pivot tables & dashboards.  He has also learned other important Excel skills like the lookup formulas and macros & VBA.

Andy with his Awesome Excel Resume

Andy's story is a lot like mine. I have spent over 10 years learning Excel, and using it every single day. I love it!

I also really enjoy sharing that knowledge with you. Nothing excites me more than receiving wonderful feedback from the Excel Campus community.

This community has grown to over 30,000 subscribers on the newsletter and YouTube channel, and I can't thank you enough for participating.  I feel truly grateful, honored, and excited to have you here.

Your comments on the blog and YouTube videos really motivate me to keep charging ahead.  I am definitely fired up about this new year.

The Excel Campus Learning Center

I have a lot of new content planned for this year, but I know you might be eager to get started on your goals right away.  So this month I am doing a special promotion for my two new courses.

If you haven't heard, the Excel Campus Learning Center also opened in 2015.

This included the launch of two brand new online courses:

The VBA Pro Course

Learn Macros & VBA to Automate Excel and Build Awesome Applications

The VBA Pro Course Cover - Learn by Building Apps

The Ultimate Lookup Formulas Course

Master Excel's most important functions like vlookup, index/match, and more.

Ulitmate Lookup Formulas Logo

Both of these courses have been designed to help you learn in an easy step-by-step manner.

The goal, to help you improve your Excel skills so you can save time with your job and advance in your career.

I started with these two topics (VBA and the lookup formulas) because these skills have had the most impact on my career.

Not a day goes by where I don't write a lookup formula (like vlookup) to help bring data sets together. These formulas are critical to creating reports and analysis that help business leaders make decisions.

Learning macros & VBA has also helped me automate Excel to save companies tremendous amount of time and stress. These skills make you a valuable asset to employers, and can really put you in high demand.

Hundreds of people joined the courses last year, and have already seen great results.

These courses are an investment in yourself and your career.  They will definitely help you take your skills to the next level.

So if you are looking to quickly improve your skills and make great strides in 2016, then click the links above to learn more about each course.

The courses mentioned above are now part of our comprehensive Elevate Excel Training Program.

Thank You For Being a Friend!

I want to thank you again for all your support and inspiration.  I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you.

I hope you set some ambitious goals for learning Excel in 2016, and don't forget to set some fun goals too!  The more time we save with Excel tasks, the more fun we get to have outside of work! 🙂

Here's to a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year!

Your friend,

Jon

  • I am working on this assessment for this school. Currently I am entering data straight into excel. I am hoping if I can send you the copy of the excel template for the assessment and you can have a look at it. And maybe guide me on how I can improve it more to make it easy. Thanks.

  • Hello Jon: I am in the process of collecting data about projects and resources and want to be able to show resource burn down charts or resource utilization and information about which project have what resources and skill set assigned to them. What do you suggest that I start with, any tips you may provide will be helpful.
