An add-in is a special type of Excel file (.xlam) that contains VBA code (macros + forms). You install the file on your computer once, and then it will open automatically whenever you run Excel. The Hero Tools tab will appear in the ribbon (toolbar) where you will access the features of the app.

As soon as you install the add-in, you’ll unlock keyboard shortcuts and greater Excel functionality that will save you time on everyday tasks and processes. However, the add-in does NOT use an installer or exe file. If your employer has restrictions on installing new applications, you should still be able to install the Hero Tools Add-in.
The add-in is a special Excel file type (xlam) that is saved to your hard drive and then enabled through the Add-ins Manager within Excel. It does NOT require you to run a typical application installer.
Over time, when new features are released, the add-in will prompt you to update automatically.

Yes, so long as there is only one user. Each add-in is intended for a single user and may be installed on up to three computers owned/used by that user at any one time. This means you can use the same license on your home and work computers.

Some features of Hero Tools, such as the Table of Contents, will add functionality to your workbooks. Those features can still be used by other users even if they do not have Hero Tools installed.
In order to use the Hero Tools features, your co-workers and other users of your files will need to purchase and install the add-in on their computer. Fortunately, we offer volume discounts to help equip your entire team with the time-saving features of HeroTools.
